Hong Dao Bookstore is a national bookstore chain in China. It was established in 1992 with over five shops across the country and expanding.

The logo and brand identity has been used for over two decades, and it was time to renew when they approached us for an upgrade on their brand image.

Our solution: 
We have merged the 弘"Hong" 道"Dao" into one single Chinese character and simply make it an icon for  the logo design.
The character could also be used as a pattern by deconstructing it. The red colour is extracted from their original logo and we added grey to give it a cultural and philosophical character. 
The same technique and concept was also adapted on its cafe.

相會 is an outdoor photography exhibition took place in Timesquare, Causeway Bay organised by Tung Wah group. The aim of this exhibition linked up with rehabilitated persons (including those with a background in drug addicted) who facing the encounters of "difficulties" and "hope" in their lives.

Through the photographic works taken by the rehabilitated people, the audiences can understand their mentality, thereby increasing the public's acceptance of them.

When "difficulties" appear, life may face helplessness and despair, such as a gloomy photo. The colors that may appear at this stage are dark colours.

When "hope" appears, life may reveal the dawn, like a colorful painting. Bright colors may appear at this stage.

Therefore, this photo exhibition uses black and white and color as the main background colors.

Century Beef Noodles is a brand new Hong Kong style noodles franchise restaurant locates in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and Macau.
They came to us having the vision to market their traditional dishes with a modern food experience. 

Our solution:
To create a modern logo together with their historical background, using a Chinese word "流芳百世" that means "timeless fame" by twisting it with one character "牛" which means "beef" to name the restaurant "牛芳百世" that combines both meaning. 
The brand has used traditional Chinese calligraphy to show the historical side and matching earth tone colors and minimal patterns to put a modern touch.

Collaborating with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs), We designed an immersive community project that bridges Mindful Photography with interactive storytelling. Participants' captures of Wanchai are curated into 12 monthly calendar cards, hidden across historical landmarks and local shops.

The highlight of the design is the "Transformative Event Guide": We created a hand-drawn treasure map that serves a dual purpose. Beyond guiding "treasure hunters" through the district, a dedicated section of the map is designed to be cut and folded into a functional calendar stand. This allows participants to house and display the 12 cards they discover, turning a piece of marketing collateral into a lasting memento of their community exploration.

Circular Design Thinking: Developed a sustainable, multi-use event guide that extends the project’s lifecycle from the street to the home.

Tangible Engagement: Created a "Collect-and-Build" experience that incentivizes full participation and deepens the emotional connection with the Wanchai district.

Yanjiyou Bookstore is a national bookstore chain in China. Their newly opened shop located in Beijing needed a all-rounded service on their shop decoration and visual merchandising.

Our Solution:
Their exclusive Interior Design firm which got awarded by Interior Design Best of Year Award 2016 with this shop, has worked along with us on their interior image. We have came up several ideas from their main store area to their children books corner, from the cafe to the retail area. Everything were tailor-made for the interior design concept.

“Face Unlock” Art Exhibition is an outdoor pop-up exhibition took place in Timesquare, Causeway Bay organized by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals CROSS Centre, co-organized by District Fight Crime Committee (Wan Chai District), and sponsored by the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society Kowloon and Hong Kong Correctional Services Department.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for rehabilitated offenders, including people with drug abuse history, to express their failures in life, and to explore their internal journey and their positively transformed meaning of life. This public exhibition creates a platform for the general public to encounter and listen to the rehabilitated offenders’ stories, that helps the public to embrace and support them.

K11 is a creative shopping mall that locates in both Hong Kong and Shanghai. They have a vision to bring Art into daily life of customers in the cities.

One of their Art related projects was to co-operate with Gary Baseman, an American illustrator well known with his dark humour style of paintings and cartoons.

To introduce the artist into the market, we have combined his painting with a straightforward and clean design as the images speak for itself. The images and items were well merged with the mall environment and remain focused.
